Happy Juneteenth! Today is a celebration to remember the end of slavery in the United States, one of the darkest periods in American history. On June 19, 1865, African-Americans were finally informed of their freedom, over 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

Today we celebrate, but we also recognize that the fight against racism continues. We’re grateful for the progress that has been made, yet diligent in prayer, word and deed to continue to be about the redemptive work of Jesus in the area of race. One way we can do that is by joining our black brothers and sisters in celebration of this great day in American history! Happy Juneteenth!

And Happy Father’s Day to all the stellar dads out there!
